Just Thursday Blog Hop: Mundane

The lowly fly-swatter. An absolute blessing at the beginning of Northern Ontario’s bug season. Mundane, but the lighting caught my eye.

  1. a fly swatter could be mundane – but you’ve captured this subject in ever-moving diagonals and shadow – that makes it a fascinating swatter worthy of stars not flies

That’s a little gem of a photo – all of the photos, actually – I love the deceptive simplicity of the subject and the patterns of the light!

The lighting created some great shadow play. Love the photos and feel for you with the bug season descending. I am an Ontario baby who moved to BC with my family when I was not quite a teenager. I do remember the summer bugs. Big as hummingbirds some times, depending where you were. Well, that’s what it felt like to me at the time, lol.

Thanks, Paula. I checked out your blog through Marilyn’s posting. I may join in later in the future. I’m not really a black/white photographer and I’ve already used most of my winter shots in other postings. Cheers!

Don’t worry Olga. If you like photo challenges, I have one in colour that goes on Thursdays 😉 On the menu bar you can see scheduled challenges with themes well in advance, in case it interests you. No pressure.
