My Treasures
The snake is rather frightening! Better in your garden than in your home! Great pics.

It startled me when I came upon it. Instead of running away, I ran for my camera. First snake I’ve seen in a few years.

You’re far braver than I am.

Cute squirrels! They look smaller than the ones we have here, and more tidy somehow.

The one peeking out of the choke cherry tree is actually a chipmunk. I was lucky to get that shot. He was so fast and zipping around. Interesting that your squirrels are bigger. Thanks for the visit.

How awesome to catch a chipmunk peeking out of the tree like that! We have them in parks and higher elevations but I’ve never seen one around our neighborhoods. They’re so cute!

Thanks, Lena. First time I’ve photographed one. It was interesting to wait until it raised its head.

A bit scary too? I would have been both scared and amazed.

Initially, I had both feelings also. It’s a garter snake, so I knew it wasn’t poisonous. After being startled, I wanted to get a good shot before it slithered away.

Love the pics but I don’t love snakes. Where I am any snake is poisonous and most are deadly.

I think I would have backed off with photos if this guy had been poisonous. I’m not a fan of snakes either, but my photographer’s courage suddenly said, “Get the shot. It could be once in a lifetime!”.
