Busted up inside

Swallowing my voice for years

Freedom now a must

  1. What a great image. Yes, never good to keep it all inside.

  2. Mystical Image. The voice inside, it is difficult to avoid the bullies at times, good to express letting go, being free. An inspiration for all who read your words. Beautiful. jk

  3. How much time do we spend trying to find our voice because the world somehow has found a way to enslave. Freedom is such is the right word. Wonderful.

It’s not just the outside world that can hamper our voice, but also our inner world/thoughts can unconsciously do that also. Thank-you for liking my haiku.

      • So true. Now that you mention, to keep it short, I am my own worst critic. And it has little or nothing to do with those in the outside world. Even working with therapists, can’t seem to figure out where the high expectation to write with my own voice to the point is no longer my own voice, but what I think is supposed to be my voice.

Expectations for oneself or for others can stifle spontaneity and the creative spirit. I’m getting better in this area. Awareness is important and then change can happen.

What an amazing image. It goes so beautifully with the haiku–the sense of fire within.
