Running like a wolf
Face caked with tears of fury
Time to stop and breathe

A MUST READ Olga: Like a Wolf | Stuff and what if. The imagery this one brings to mind is powerful, at least it is to me. I can see it and feel it. The more times I read it the more I get into the action of it. (Thank-you Ron for this wonderful comment!)
I’ve been seeing this one on the blogosphere a lot today. Interesting challenge. I think you did well with your spin on cake.

Thanks, Marissa. I deliberately tried to stay away from the edible reference. I’ll wait until Christmas to indulge in sweets.

Oh, it’s not Christmas already? (asked while wiping chocolate off my face).

Ha ha! I gave in and had some chocolate last night. Two young girls came around selling chocolates for their school fund-raiser and I couldn’t resist but assist their endeavor.

If you think about it, life is like that sometimes, when are are so busy and rushing, rushing, rushing. Great Haiku.

So true! I’m glad you saw that in my haiku. I felt like that yesterday doing some Christmas shopping, minus the tears, but a bit of fury with the traffic. Ha ha! Cheers.

Thank-you, Jazzy. Ron’s intro instructions confused me, so I tried to go in another direction. Glad you liked it.

Love how this works with the two sentences, the opposites and it goes so brilliantly with the photo. And then the metaphorical side to it as well – you certainly created one very powerful haiku!

Thank-you for the thoughtful analysis. It’s very pleasing to me when someone takes the time to do that. I am grateful.

It’s like me when I have to run a mile at the gym but I really don’t want to. I love the poem and could really feel the words you used, I feel like we’ve all been to a point where we do so much that it overwhelms and causes us to explode at some point.

I’m glad that you could feel the words. The haiku form has an intriguing way of revealing a sudden depth of understanding that can be taken on multiple levels. ‘In the eyes of the beholder,’ as they say. I find that a haiku that speaks on different levels is the most interesting and happens by a chance juxtaposition of key words. I’m still learning.
