I’m glad you think so, Marissa. It’s a new haiku genre for me. I realized that it could be interpreted that way. It can also be taken in another way… I’ll leave it at that. Always love your take on things. Have a great day!

Hmmm…do I just have a dirty mind then? Ha, ha ! Will have to go back for a reread!

I do believe this haiku lends itself to such interpretation. I think “smoldering desire” sets the stage, but I did have a smoldering desire for years to get back to creative aspects in life.

Yeah, I have to say smoldering desire could be taken a couple of different ways! Haha. However, I am happy that the gem of your creativity is unfolding. You are very creative, Olga.

I’m glad you read the prior comments, Mary. I’m happily amazed that I am discovering my inner “gem.” Maybe I have “unfolded” a talent in the romance area. Ha ha! Blessing to you also.

Thank-you for the hooray, Natalia. I started my comeback last January. It came with writing a few short stories, then finding a joy in photography and ended up with a love for haiku.

Happy you thought so, Denis. That image was a left-over shot from working on another challenge. I just darkened it a bit from the original to give it a moodier look that matched the intent of the haiku.

Thank-you, Vashti. It wasn’t intended to be so, but it does lend itself to that interpretation. After I posted it and got the first comment, I realized that the first line is usually used in that context. I guess, my introduction into creating a ‘romance’ haiku.

Sorry for the typo. You obviously understood that I meant sexy. Yes, I immediately thought of sensuous romance and passion. Poetry lends itself to vast interpretations. Well done.

Very fitting haiku and photo for this lovers weekend. Is it about rekindling an old love, or perhaps expressing a hidden love for the first time? Just wondering what you had in mind. I really like when I’m left pondering…

This might sound unusual, but the intention was to express a joy of rekindling my old love for artistic endeavors that had been left smoldering in the ruins of my past life. Ha ha!

Excellent! I was wide open as to what kind of love you might be referring to. Best of luck with this new aspiration. Xx
