Three-Line Tales: Week #9

It was just another week-end evening of relaxation and enjoying a friendly game of Scrabble, but why were Adrian’s hands shaking.

As I observed his distraught face with trepidation, a memory appeared, reminding me of his recurring nightmares that seemed to affect his sense of reality.

With a quiver on his lips as his hand hesitated in the moment, I watched Adrian slowly place the tiles to spell “quiet,” and then without warning, the lights went out.

Mysterious and suspenseful! I really like the contrast between the beginning (“just another week-end evening of relaxation “) and the end (“without warning, the lights went out”). Great take on the prompt!
