Sunset of Life

Haiku Sonnet

Waves of time changing

My awareness cries concern

Unheard voices speak

*

Earth’s agonies felt

Yet greed defaces her womb

Hope is not enough

*

Where is the saviour?

Politicians, companies?

They play with Earth’s trust.

*

We are the chosen

Voices rising in anger

Is there time enough?

*

Signs of earth’s last breath will come

Generations will be lost

(My inspiration for attempting this sonnet was Michael at The Poetry Channel. My muse was on my back with this one. :))

Such truth, and the picture goes so well with it. Sadly I think we are in sunset. Will the sun rise again?

The feelings of the people are well captured here Olga. Forget politicians, business power and wealth, people action and people has to lead.

  5. Hello Olga…what a beautiful poem. And I love the form. No rambling words… it’s “voice” is easily heard and one would hope taken to heart.

That one line … signs of earth’s last breath… it invokes a picture I cannot sketch. Resignation? Never. Tired? Yes. But still hopeful. Always hopeful.
