Mountains draw me near
Heart’s desire flows like water
Spinning on my toes
A travel opportunity took shape to encounter the Rocky Mountains via Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada – not seen in four decades. Fear of flight overcome for love of a daughter who would otherwise spend Christmas alone. A life-changing, joyous experience.

A beautiful haiku Olga :o)

Beautiful haiku and pictures, words that accompany it all bring back fond memories of these same spaces I visited once while touring in the Rocky Mountains. Thank you for this lovely post.

Thank-you for stopping by to add your lovely comment, Helene. Here’s a quote that matched my feelings in the presence of these mountains. “This mountain, the arched back of the earth risen before us, it made me feel humble.. just lucky to be here at all, even briefly.” (Bridget Asher) ❤

My feeling was like being in the presence of great ancient masters. The silence I felt all around was never felt the same again. These mountains are indeed great communicators who have lived and delivered many great secrets to humanity.
Beautiful quote you wrote above, it is awesome in description of the mountains.

Thanks, Marissa. We lucked into some decent weather. Little turbulence on the flights. The drive to Jasper National Park was icy though, the closer we got to the mountains. A bit scary going down steep hills. I came back with wonderful memories and photos. 🙂

It’s funny because I was just listening to a comedy monologue about how the comedian would never hike because so many people die or go missing. Being not very outdoorsy myself…I could subscribe to that!
