Quadrille #29: Balloon

Ancient eye watching

Childhood’s boundless wonders

 Carefree curiosity

Gumption ballooning

Without tethers

Passionate innocence

 Happily adrift

In skies of blue

Floating without destination

On unexplored currents of life

 Timeless, ancient eyes

Reaching out to small, trusting hands

Caressing reveries

Harnessing creative spirit

I like the end stanza, reaching out to small, trusting hands. I can visualize a small child’s eyes as they’re given a red balloon

  4. Lovely, dream-like poem that fits the gorgeous image so well. Sometimes I wish I could drift aimlessly. But life doesn’t seem to allow that.
