Darkness Within

Colors disappear

Trapped in stark reality

What was once is gone

Suddenly caged with dark thoughts

Healing journey a tough climb

It certainly can be a chilling experience when the mind revisits past trauma and starts to live there. I have great hopes that healing will come eventually with professional care. Thank-you, Mary.

Olga, what a poignant Tanka. I’ve been feeling morose ever since the last of my precious Pomeranian’s passed away after Thanksgiving, so I feel the pain in your words. Hope all is well. Hugs and love.

Yes, the pain of loss, whether for a loved one or for a part of oneself, is a long journey of healing and acceptance. I feel for you, Colleen. I’ve found that the attachment of love is a strong force and can get one through the tough times. Finding joy in the moments, however short, will eventually add to a hopeful resolution to the pain of loss. As they say, one day at a time. One tiny step towards serenity. Thank-you for sharing your thoughts, Colleen. Hugs and love to you also. ❤
