I love how the ground and path before the figure on the bench (male… female… ?) seems on fire, yellow hot, as if being heated up by the anguish coming from the bench.
No small wonder the viewer’s empathy.

It was a female. Yes, I adjusted the colour intensity to help the eye drift down the path to the front of the figure that is almost unnoticeable. Happy that you noticed, Patrick.
