Glacier deposit
Of ancient rocks
Polished
By hands of time
Once free rolling
With life’s pressures
Grounded now
Silent
Holding story
Of yesteryear
A little of this. A little of that.

Lovely! Rocks are so impressive, especially understanding what they’ve endured. Beautiful images.

Thank-you, V.J. Still hard to imagine that Canada and the northern states were totally covered by glaciers at one time. 🙂

Thank-you, Elaine. A bit of added contrast in editing really brought out the colors in the boulders. 🙂

Thank-you kindly, Kerfe. It’s like when you see rocks underwater and they are so wet and colorful, but when they dry they lose their shimmer and grey-out. My editing helped to bring out the color that the eye couldn’t see. 🙂

I love the colors in the rocks and the words that give me a felt sense of the lifetimes that have passed over them.

Thank-you, Arati. You’ve said it so well. Rocks can tell a silent story of their history if one is ready to listen.
