Unexpected darkness descends
Covering personal landscape
Shadowing real time
Whisked into portal of instability
Spinal canals narrowed
Neurological compromise
Pain body electrifies
Day turns into eternal night
Matrix warping senses
Farewell to old ways
Walking brings no pleasure
Only time will tell
What awaits
*My story…recently diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. I was getting tingling sensations in the lower back and simple bending/lifting would cause a lot of strain and some pain. A heating pad, some Advil and I was ready to tackle the world, but then things suddenly changed for the worse.
Well, in February, it was the shoveling of wet, heavy snow that did me in. The pain bubble absorbed my daily activities. I got my MRI results a week later, too late to stop me from doing this strenuous activity, that would severely affect my lower back and quality of life.
I’ve turned to an alternative, herbal solution and it’s slowly starting to take effect. After weeks of agonizing pain, it brought back hope. The wonders of CBD oil.
I’m so sorry to hear this dear Olga and glad to see you’ve found something that brings comfort and hope. I’ve heard hydro-therapy and acupuncture can also bring relief. Sending healing thoughts and love your way 💞💜💞 xxx

Chiropractic adjustment has helped me with my degenerative disc issues. What an eloquent poem you have written on a difficult subject!

Thank-you, Lindy. I did go to my chiropractor a week ago and for some reason the pain transferred to another area and the agony walking started. I’ve made an appointment to see a physiotherapist also. I’ve had amazing pain relief for the past two days with the CBD oil kicking in. Appreciate you sharing your story. ❤

I wondered as I was reading. When my disease struck, it hit my spine (and other places). I distinctly remember the day I could not get up the stairs. Do take care. No wonder this winter has been a struggle.

Thank-you, V. J. This winter was definitely difficult. I’ve had other mobility issues through the years, but this one has by far been the worst. Yet there is some hope. 🙂

The darkness of pain. It can mean farewell to so many precious parts of life. Waiting for a solution just makes it worse. Sending healing thoughts out to you. Your poem is powerful. Glad the oil is helping. Deep tissue massage may also help – it has helped me. Good luck.

Ailments seem to arrive at just the wrong time (when you want to get out)…but then I guess there is never a good time…I have to slow down at times when I’d rather not but find it’s a necessity…I’m glad you are hopeful…an important ingredient for getting active again.

Whatever comfort U can take from transmuting pain into high art is well earned.

High art is a tall order. Maybe emotive photoart is more my passion when I get the right image to transmute. Thanks for your comment, Mellow. 🙂 I’m laying low these days. Lucky if I get two posts done a week.

To someone whose wheels turn as slowly as mine do, 2 posts per week sounds great. (I’m more like 2 per month.) Please be careful about getting into strange positions while lining up a shot.
