“If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete.” (Buddha)
Choices made
Things gone wrong
Guilt outliving the event
Inner voice persecutes
Until an understanding voice
Brings clarity
It was never your fault
You were only reacting
Like a caged bird
Forced to sing
For your life

Oh MY! This is powerful. Sometimes choices aren’t really true choices.

We are often harder on ourselves. It is hard to have self compassion.

Since retiring a few years ago, I’ve learned to be kinder to myself. You’re right about self-compassion being hard to achieve in a world that expects perfection. Thank-you for your thoughts, Heather. 🙂

This is certainly the realization we hope to achieve – understanding and forgiveness. Nice!

Thank-you V. J. Sometimes one can forget that with self-compassion, one can find the portal opening to healing. 🙂

Taking care of all those around us, one sometimes forgets to mindfully take time to be kind to ourselves. Thanks for your thoughts, Amy. 🙂

I’m still working on it, but aging brings a certain amount of wisdom and enlightenment. 🙂

Thank-you for introducing me to Gurdjieff. One of his quotes. “What you need to know is very little, but to know that little takes very very much.”
