And negative assumptions

Clutter the mind

“Ignorance is bliss”

Twists the belief system

Seagulls are scavengers

Garbage eaters

A nuisance

Not worthy of esteem

Lowest on the totem pole

*

That’s what I was told

*

Photographer’s eye

Has opened a new reality

Seeing this maligned glider

As an elegant beauty

    Powerful post. We are told and told and told and believe until we open our eyes and see anew. I love the seagulls.

    All too often we accept things at face value, so important to question and think. Great post. After my encounter with a seagull in the spring, I did a little research and found out they are quite intelligent. They will stomp the ground to imitate rain and draw the worms out and the males look after the juveniles in a nursery flock.

      Thank-you, Oneta. Yes, it’s important to re-evaluate and re-think what one takes for granted and see with new eyes. The camera allows me to do that. 🙂

      Thank-you, Michael. Yes, this lesson is transferable to other beliefs that don’t serve us well. Really appreciate your comment on my photo. I subdued the background to make it feel like a portrait of the trio. 🙂
