“Silhouettes say a lot with little information…” (Kara Walker)
Silhouettes can embrace a subject and set a mood.
Silhouetted leaves can create a sense of drama.
Silhouettes and shadows dance together to the song of nature.
Silhouettes can make one look up and wonder.

So much movement and tension in the first.

The boy on the left didn’t want to hold his mother’s hand and was struggling. Happy that you saw the tension. ❤

Excellent silhouetted photos, Olga. I love the first one with my daughter and granddaughter in mind. The last one is awesome!

Thank-you, Miriam. I was really happy to have found those two in my archives. Don’t remember what one has stored until a theme invites investigation. 🙂

It’s the same here, Olga. I like to take part in photo challenges for the same reason. They refresh my mind of the photos I have or nudge me to search for them. 🙂

A wonderful set, Olga and great thoughts on silhouettes. I especially love the mother and the kids in your first shot. The tension between the child and mother is wonderful–in terms of conveying the mood here. Really well done!

Thank-you, Patti. Interesting how mood can be set by a simple change of pose. A heightening of contrast in this image allowed me to use the photo without revealing the identities of the subjects. Happy that you liked it. 🙂

Well done – and the captions are interesting. Love the way you are thinking. My favorite is the first shot – a human interaction that is understood with only seeing body language.

Love your opener this week Olga. One wonders if mom was keeping the kids dry or enjoying family playtime. Fun!

Thanks, Tina. 🙂 Glad that the opener made you curious about the story. Actually how the mother holds the boy’s arm on the left hints at the answer.
