R.I. P. Peanut–May 28, 2020

Emotional risk

Of letting go

Ending the story

Witnessing heart stopping

*

Heart breaks

Presence missed

Gentle soul

Disappears from earthly existence

*

If only nine lives

Was a reality

And the cancer

Hadn’t written

A death sentence

So suddenly

*

One more day

Not possible

Time had run out

Peace was calling

*

Double-edged reward

Bitter-sweet mantra

Love is forever

Yet tears still flow

    Your lovely tribute reminds me of my own sweet cat’s loss to cancer…she appears in my dreams often and it’s such a joy to stroke her fur again. I’m so sorry for your loss..
