R.I. P. Peanut–May 28, 2020
*
Emotional risk
Of letting go
Ending the story
Witnessing heart stopping
*
Heart breaks
Presence missed
Gentle soul
Disappears from earthly existence
*
If only nine lives
Was a reality
And the cancer
Hadn’t written
A death sentence
So suddenly
*
One more day
Not possible
Time had run out
Peace was calling
*
Double-edged reward
Bitter-sweet mantra
Love is forever
Yet tears still flow
*

Thank-you for the hugs, V.J. My daughter took it hard and feels the gap immensely. Peanut is one of her three cats that live with us. Her brother also notices Peanut’s absence. They were cuddle buddies. It’s only day one and the new normal will take time to adjust to.

It will take time. Adjustment all around it sounds like.

Your lovely tribute reminds me of my own sweet cat’s loss to cancer…she appears in my dreams often and it’s such a joy to stroke her fur again. I’m so sorry for your loss..

Thank-you so much for your caring comment, Janice. 🙂 By the way, Peanut was a female. I should have noted that.
