Slips into real time

Senses heightened
Thrown into a vacuum
Surrounding noise disappears

Empathic connection
Baring myself
To flame of emotion

Miss you…

I love the sense I get of the simplicity in a moment of missing, the essence of it. How the experience of missing fills all aspects of the moment. The tenderness and beauty of that moment.

Thank-you for the thoughtful comment, Arati. Yes, that moment of missing came after the physical manifestation of what I believe to be a sudden connection with another aspect of “reality”. It’s happened a few times through the years at the most unexpected moments. 🙂

A lovely poem (and image) – those moments of memory triggered by an aroma, a smell – can be quite powerful. Stops me in my tracks.

It was weird, but there was no aroma at the time. It came from somewhere else, not in my world at that moment. I took it as a message that she was trying to contact me. 🙂

Whoa. You must have been tuned in – in just the right way at just the right time.

Thank-you for understanding that the scent did not come from my physical environment at the moment. My oldest daughter is also empathic. She actually wakes up in the middle of the night and gets a strong emotional feeling that someone that she is strongly connected to has died or is in trouble.

Oh wow. That kind of thing happens to me often – at random times (not in the middle of the night though!) – an intuition or strange sense that I will hear from someone or about someone I know. I’ve learned over the years to trust it rather than ignore or deny it.

That’s it! Trust the reality of it. ❤

How beautifully moving, Olga. I have this sensation with my paternal grandmother every time I smell roses – her distinct scent.

It’s comforting to have that connection with someone on the other side. 🙂
