In our existence
Is the constant flow of change
Stuff is always happening
Or waiting to happen
*
Sometimes change is signaled
By a lurking sense of apprehension
That gut feeling
Sometimes it’s revealed in lucid dreams
A riddle to be unraveled
Created by the subconscious
Sometimes an angel leaves a feather
Challenging physical reality
Sometimes it’s an unexpected knock
At the door of your consciousness
That signals an inner need to change
Whatever stuff happens
It’s meant for only you
*
“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” (Alan Watts)
*
“To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.” (Henri Bergson)
*
“Whatever stuff happens It’s meant for only you” Yeah

The photographs for this poem are absolutely stunning! The second image almost could be the seagull’s eye. Stuff does happen – you put it so eloquently.

Thank-you, V.J. My daughter thought it looked like an eyeball also. 🙂

What an appropriate prompt for you and your blog :). Beautiful images – really stunning – and the poem is as well. Stuff does happen and I appreciate your link to “sometimes” because every time it’s different in some way. I especially like “the unexpected knock….”

Thank-you so much, Andrea. I love recreating photos to accentuate the words. Yes, the unexpected knock can come as an early sign or a full blown knock upside the head. I’ve had both. 🙂

You’re welcome! The unexpected knocks make up the most challenging “stuff.” I know what you mean. 🙂

Stuff happens and we’ve just got to go with it and live through it. Terrific poem and interesting images!
