Negative Space

Negative space can drastically change the mood and story of your image. Much of the time, negative space is the mood and emotion.”

(Ed Heaton)

Negative space may very well be white, but it also may be dark, colored, patterned, variegated, a gradient, or even a background image.”

(Ayesha Ambreen)

Time to move on

Let go of the past

It doesn’t serve you well

As the sun sets

Remember aging is a process

The future shines bright

Listen to your inner voice

Follow your passion

It’s the only way

Serenity awaits

In unlikely places

Create them

Your first 3 lines say it all. Such a beautiful weaving of poem and images. The sunset photo is really stunning. I also appreciate your hopeful tone on aging. That is difficult to navigate and stay positive about.

Thank-you so much, Andrea. Always try to be hopeful in my posts and in life, when I can. Aging can be difficult to navigate, especially if health issues are involved. I’m a fan of that sunset photo also, even though I injured myself getting it.

I have scrolled up and down several times to admire your beautiful images and poem. The first one, wow… I lost for words. I love the second one, it goes with “the future shines bright” perfectly, so are the other two.
Thank you, Olga for the beautiful and inspiring post. πŸ™‚

Thank-you so much, John. ❀ I was organizing all my negative space photos into one file and didn’t realize that I had so many. Had to whittle it down to a few choice ones to match my words. πŸ™‚

Lovely images, perfectly showing different aspects of negative space. I always think the term β€œNegative Space ” is an oxymoron as it can be used so positivity.

I agree. It should be called a neutral or blurred space, and in some cases, a white space, etc. Thanks for enjoying my photos, Helen. πŸ™‚
