Strangely Happy

Once upon a time

I held onto a dream

Of second chances

Waiting through the months of struggle

Never broken

The greys suddenly embraced the light

Colors of the changing season lured my eyes

The body felt lighter

Gratitude filled my soul

Now I can whistle a tune

Sing to the rhythm of autumn

Share my blessings

***Hip replacement surgery on Sept. 8 was successful and the body is slowly healing.

These photos were taken off my balcony early October. One day I’ll be able to touch a leaf personally and smell nature up close.

Now only the yellows are entrancing the eye. Soon winter will wrap its cold finger around the landscape.

Quality of life has improved and my step is lighter.

I am strangely happy.

Thank-you, V.J. Pleased to hear from you again. Yes, I was more than a bit apprehensive about the whole process. The unknown can be very scary. I had a great surgeon though. Hope things are getting resolved with you and Ric. May this day bring you joy.

Thank-you, Andrea. Yes, I’m full of hope and following my physio program. This Spring may find me photographing nature the way I use to. I may even hug a tree. Ha ha! Hope all is well with you.

You’re welcome! I look forward to your nature photos when you’re ready to get out there again. I’m hanging in there waiting for “normal” to return in some form.

“Normal” can take many forms. I’m getting closer to my personal “normal”. Hoping you find the “normal” you are waiting for. I think the world will eventually find a “new normal”, but there are always unknowns. I’m excited for the future possibilities to renew my passion for nature photography.
