Most memorable skyscape of 2021 after an early summer storm.
I didn’t take many photos in 2021 (life happened…), but this cloud formation called to me and I’m so happy I took the shot.

Sometimes images have many lives
Drifting into the future
When curiosity brings them back to life
Creating a new world
For the original to inhabit
I spent many moments playing with editing old photos since my fresh supply was lacking due to mobility issues. Here I present the steps to the final result of one of my creations.
Step 1 – My peace lily from 2016 inspired the final image. I love to explore the alternate world of abstraction and investigate the interaction between shape, light and minimal color. I was very new to exploring the possibilities of photography at this point. Intrigued by the life of shadows.

Step 2– Isolating the shadow shape of interest.

Step 3– Beginning to play with the abstract possibilities of top, floral shadow.

Step 4– Final 2021 image of a starry, fantasy world.

Thank goodness for photos to edit. Nice to see you here, Olga. How is the hip coming?

Hi V.J. Nice to hear from you also. Yes, old photos can be a godsend at times. Hip is doing really good. No pain in the joint. Some muscle pain, but that will heal slowly. Just need to keep moving. I’m only starting 5 months. Takes 6 months to a year. I am so grateful that most of the pain is gone. I’m also lucky that I had my surgery before all outpatient ones were cancelled in Ontario due to the 5th wave.

I’m glad the surgery worked for you, and as you say, you managed to get it before this lockdown. Not the best weather for walking. Take care.

Already yearning for spring. Ha ha! Haven’t seen the sun much this winter. Yes, walking on snow-packed areas can be tricky. I always go slow and look down with a watchful eye. We’re getting a weather bomb here later today. (-27 this morning— feels like -32, climbing to -4 later this afternoon, then dropping to -20 on Monday).

Your photos and editing have resulted in some beautiful images…I’m glad to read in your comment to V.J. that you are recovering well and most of your pain is gone. Here in B.C. we are also grappling with the 5th wave, sigh!

Thank-you kindly. 🙂 Yes. I am so grateful for a second chance at experiencing quality of life. Yes, the waves seem to be never ending. 😦 I hear B.C, has been grabbling with unusual winter weather also. Take care.
