Beautiful photos! As much as I don’t like snowy driving conditions, I agree that the winter display is less dreary.

Thank-you, Janice. I really enjoyed photographing these today. We even had the sun come of hiding for a bit.

I stepped outside for a few moments to photo today too– capturing a few rays of sun–no snow or stunning waters though 🙂

Just to see the sun was joyous. Glad you got to capture some rays.

Send some rain my way please! Here in Australia we’re in the middle of a heat wave.

I wish I could, Miriam. I hear your part of the world has had a few scorching summers. Thanks for visiting.

Yes we sure have. Today is another scorching day – far too hot for me!

Beautiful photos Olga, and a great Haiku too 🙂

Thank-you, Andy. After I had experienced my photographic adventure, I felt impelled to post some of the images. The haiku came with a sigh of relief that snow was here.

I would love to have that beautiful haiku express itself literally over here in Melbourne Australia Olga. 41oC today, yesterday 39 tomorrow 36 and all of 7 mm of rain this month. And all that water in those wonderful images.

Another resident of Australia expressed a similar sentiment about the extreme heat you are experiencing and lack of rain. Wishing you well in coping. Thanks for visiting.

Thanks Olga. I am inside with the air conditioner on 21oC and Charlie is asleep on her bed.

It sounds like you had two weeks of typical December Pacific Northwest weather. It’s so depressing, isn’t it? I am happy you finally got some snow and a taste of cold, icy splendor! I would ask you to send some my way but it would just melt by the time it got here. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos!

It was an amazing day. No more wishing for the rain to stop. I wish I had magical powers, but sadly not.

Thank-you, Mary. It was a wonderful experience to have seen and captured the last light of the setting sun. The sun has been hiding its face for quite awhile.

Beautiful images, Olga!!! I managed to go out today to get some snow shots, not many, but some. Last year too much snow, this year not enough. Go figure!!! Let’s hope we both get some more of the white stuff to make stunning images from!!! ❤

So unusual but we haven’t had any snow here in Maine yet this season. I feel like when it comes it just won’t stop. ha! Very beautiful set.

Thank-you, Karin. The weather is very unusual this year. Our snow is disappearing with warmer temperatures. Rain for the next few days. Looks like no snow for Christmas.

Great photos and haiku to go with them. I had no idea the province I was born in was so rainy! Here’s hoping you get your snowy wish very soon 🙂

Thank-you, Janni. This Christmas day may be a wet surprise. It’s raining now and the snow we got a few days ago when I took the photos is melting fast.Christmas blessings!

I was going to suggest that we could take some of the rain off your hands…but see a few other Aussies have beaten me to it. It’s not far off heading off for Christaams lunch and a 35 degree Celsius day….and still waiting for rain. Tomorrow is forecast to bring 5-30 mm of rain….believe it when I see it . 🙂 Merry Christmas

And ‘Christaams’ is what I get for hitting post before proof reading . 😀

Hope you get rain. All our snow is gone now. We’re having a Merry ‘Green’ Christmas also, but not as hot as yours.

I didn’t realise you were from Ontario so I thought I would repost a poem about my Grandfather who spent a fair bit of time in Saskatchewan around the turn of the century- the one before last.

Thank-you, Kat. The small town I live in has a river at its edge and multiple lakes close by. I love photographing reflections on water when the light is right. Appreciate your visiting my posts.

I try to visit other posts when I receive comments. Sometimes I can barely get through all my email prompts and the reader, but when I receive a comment from someone, I generally hop over to see what you’re up to. I have a river close by, but it is narrow and does not have the expansive vistas that your photos capture. How fortunate you are! 🙂
