I’ve decided to do this post, using weather as a theme, a bit differently. I’ve included the B/W photo with the sepia one, as a comparison. You can decide which ones you prefer. 🙂 (Click on the image to enlarge.)
Winter storm system moving into the mountains of Jasper, Alberta. We got caught in it driving back to Edmonton.
This storm front brought high winds and heavy downpours. Watched safely from the balcony. Still scary though!
A cloud burst aftermath following intense weather.
Calm before another storm.
Amazing pictures!

Sounds like a pretty powerful storm! Those cloud formations are pretty cool looking, though. I like the sepia toned ones best, I think, because it makes it look scarier. 🙂

Thanks for your thoughts, Barbara. I’m leaning towards liking the sepia ones myself. They tend to look more dramatic. 🙂

Amazing photography Olga. The storm front is a rare capture from that angle. Enlargements would look spectacular.

Each has its own magic…and a completely different atmosphere. Fun to see them side by side. (K)

I prefer the B&W over the sepia. While I do admire the ability of photo pioneers like Adams and Weston to capture colorful subjects in B&W (and your ability to emulate them), I prefer color over B&W for most purposes nowadays.

Actually I agree with you, Mellow. Color photos are more stimulating to the eyes and reflect the ‘real’ world around us. But what I have recently realized, is that B/W can ask the viewer to focus on the composition, flow of lines and certain details without the distraction of color. Thank-you for your thoughts that stimulate my thoughts. Hope you have a great day! 🙂
