What an unprecedented heat wave here in Northern Ontario.
Our climate has been moderate compared to other parts of the world, but not this summer. Waiting for a bit of a reprieve on Thursday this week.
Below are my offerings to Frank’s theme of “Heat.”
This weather reminds me of the Hawaiian heat wave we experienced last year on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
The above photos are making me feel hotter, so here’s a cooling effect.
We’ve been under a heat warning since last Thursday. Strangely, my family in central England are getting similar temperatures and theirs started almost a week earlier than ours.

I hear the heat wave is coming from the Gulf of Mexico and affecting most of central/eastern North America. It’s lasting a bit too long for my liking. 😦

We got a bit of a break from it yesterday, we even had some rain mid morning but we’re back in the low 30s with the humidex in the mid 30s today.

Rain sounds good to me. No tornado warnings though, like we got on the week-end. 🙂

As far as I know we missed the tornado warnings. Mind you, I slept through a tornado in Saskatchewan.

They were for the Northern part of Ontario. The last one that I remember was over 30 years ago.

We are holding our breath from a relief from the heat here in SW Ontario too.

Thank-you for the kindly wish. Yes, I’ve heard news of your wild fires. Must be scary for it to be so close. Wishing you a safe journey through yet another dry season.

The first photograph reminds me of the lava flowing towards the ocean on the Big Island in Hawai’i.
I’m heading up to Toronto on Saturday for a 4 day retreat. Looks like the temperature will be a bit cooler than it is here right now which will be very nice.

I have many memories of Toronto. I lived there for 10 years while I was going to York University. Hope you have a wonderful retreat, Arati.

Thank you Olga. Where in Northern Ontario are you located?

I’ve lived in Sudbury for 2 years now. Still hard to get use to the city noises after living in a small town for years after Toronto. 🙂

I drove through Sudbury in the early 70’s. I’m guessing it has grown a bit since then.

Gorgeous searing photos. Perhaps you could send some of those heat rays over this way. 😏

Thanks, Miriam. Best I can do is send you warming thoughts. The heat of another season will eventually come your way and we’ll be in the frigid cold here in Canada.
