Fleeting shadows of remembrance
No longer imprisoning
Yet bearing witness to one’s journey
Scars on the road of life
In moments of reverie
They come biding an audience
Some scream, some weep
Others whisper and stand back waiting
Until butterfly dreams
Flutter them away
Whimsygizmo‘s dVerse challenge to write a poem using exactly 44 words including “scar.”

Beyond the Haiku…that should be a name for a soap opera…involving poets.

‘No longer imprisoning’, it’s good to be this far along the road and dancing with the butterflies. Thank you for this poem Olga.

“Scars on the road of life” – perfect picture to go with this. I like the idea of memories bearing witness but not holding one back.

Thank-you, Mary. Appreciated your visit. Loved your input. Yes, memories do bear witness, but if one is in the right mind-set, they will not hinder the journey, but show the way. 🙂

That is very true! And you’re absolutely right, there are many different ways to edit/revise, just as there are many ways to write a novel. I agree, writing creates completely awesome feelings!Like? 0
