Unusual Perspective

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change ”

(Dr. Wayne Dyer)

“What you see depends not only on what you look AT, but also on where you look FROM.”

(James Deacon)

“Photography is an art of observation.  It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. “

(Elliott Erwitt)

“You don’t take a photograph. You make it.”  (Ansel Adams)

I definitely worked on making this final image.  Went out a few days ago in frigid weather and my camera froze on me after I took a photo of this pyramid structure at a local park.

As I was doing some basic editing, some trees and other distracting elements disappeared from the background. I was inspired by a comment my daughter made, “Just try and see if you can do it. ”

I really like how you combined the photos with the quotes. The photos are exceptional!
I spent yesterday at an Ansel Adams exhibit at the MOFA in Boston. He is quite an inspiration. And your use of his quote is perfect!

The old ones were real philosopher’s about the nature of photography. I’ve never been to a photography exhibit, but it must be wonderful to see the work of the trail blazers up close. 🙂 Thank-you for liking my post. ❤

The quotes are great juxtapositions to the images. Black and white photography has a special dimension. (K)

Thank-you, Kerfe. I love finding quotes that are insightful and add to the viewing experience of my photos. Black and white photography is a learning curve for me. Some photos don’t translate well by losing their color. 🙂

  8. Gorgeous photos, Olga, and the quotes were perfect accompaniments. The pyramid almost looks like something out of a sci-fi film. My favorite is the reflective water. I could stare at it for an hour! Beautiful.

Thank-you for your wonderful comment, Diana. That reflective water totally surprised me when I saw what I’d captured. The light was just right in that moment. 🙂

I love these photographs, the diversity in the images, the smoothness of the black and white. The diagonal lines in the icicles are very powerful. The quotes resonate for me, they ring so true. The pyramid does seem other worldly, and the cold!!!!
